Mission

Source Auditor is a software and services organization focused on identifying and managing Open Source code in commercial software products.  Originally founded as CoTegrity in 2004 after several technical due diligence exercises, Source Auditor has developed significant expertise, a large knowledge base, and sophisticated proprietary software scanning technology to help companies identify and manage their open source license obligations.  We have conducted over 100 open source audits working with F500 companies as well as small software startups across a wide variety of platforms including consumer electronics, enterprise software, and hosted service environments.  We consider it our mission to help you manage the open source that is embedded inside your commercial software.

Management

Source Auditor was co-founded by Gary O’Neall, where he also serves as the Chief Technology Officer and as a Principal Consultant.  He has served for over 20 years in a wide variety of technology management roles in F500 companies like HP and Motorola, and in smaller startups like Placeware and Icarian.  He has managed technology due diligence both from the point of view of the acquirer and from the point of view of the acquisition.  As the Chief Technology Officer of Placeware when it was acquired by Microsoft in 2003, Gary drove the required technical due diligence and learned many helpful lessons about finding out what open source was really inside his own source code.  As the General Manager of Electronic Commerce for Hewlett Packard, Gary drove the required technical due diligence when HP acquired VeriFone. Gary can be reached at gary@sourceauditor.com.

Korak Mitra is a co-founder of Source Auditor, where he also serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and as a Principal Consultant.  Korak enjoys building software businesses and has served for over 20 years in a variety of technology management positions.  He has worked in F500 companies like HP and Nokia and in smaller companies such as Netscape, Airflash, Yellowpages.com, and Intellisync, all of which were acquired.  Korak served as the Vice President of the Messaging Division (building the Netscape messaging server) when it was acquired by AOL in 1999, and then absorbed into Sun iPlanet.  At AirFlash, Korak served as Chief Operating Officer, when AirFlash was acquired by Webraska in 2001.  At Intellisync, Korak served as Vice President of the Telecom Operator business when it was acquired by Nokia in 2006.  Korak can be reached at korak@sourceauditor.com or at +1-408-892-0098.
